Lockdown has been a challenging period for everyone. Lots of people thought that schools were closed, but in actual fact around 100 pupils continued to attend The Mill because their parents are key workers. We took part in an international project entitled 'Bandage Me Better' that reflected on the fact that fabric and cloth can be comforting and healing in times of adversity. As part of this project we made two quilts, Bedtime Bandage Buddies, power bandages for our wrists, and a hanging installation called 'Stay At Home'. You can see detailed pictures on this page, and some of the items will be on display at Crawley Library and Crawley Museum in 2022. In order to help us express our feelings while so much around us was uncertain, we used print making and stitch to reflect on anything that kept us going through these uncharted waters. We thought about the people we love and how they kept us going. |
